Abstract for Online Program Book (maximum 150 words)
The subtitle of William James' Varieties of Religious Experience is A Study in Human Nature. This panel presents work from a variety of scholars, each conditioned by different racial, gender or geographic contexts. According to James, no single perspective contains the entirety of the truth on any matter. Through consideration of how each scholar interacts with the religious philosophy of William James, this panel will try to arrive at a comprehensive yet pluralistic explanation of religious experience.
