Unitarian Universalist theology is currently undergoing a renaissance and a reimagining. There are more scholars active in the field than there have been in a generation. Many of them are calling for a re-examination of the core of the tradition, a centering of voices that have been historically marginalized, and a rethinking of the relationship between Unitarian Universalism and liberalism. Meanwhile, books by Unitarian Universalist thinkers are appearing at an almost dizzying rate and making contributions to in a diversity of fields such as Africana religions, feminist ethics, process theology, political theology, thing theory, and womanism. Drawing on this rich material, we will bring together some of the leading thinkers in the field to discuss its future directions, challenges, and opportunities. Participants will include Colin Bossen, Elias Ortega (Meadville Lombard Theological School), and Sharon Welch (Meadville Lombard Theological School). As is our custom, we will have a reception following the conversation.
